This one chimed in 1982; we'd grown up under Thatcher, lived through the Protest and Survive years and the Falklands; things were dragging.
Poetry by the amazing Michael Smith, who I first heard played by John Peel (who else). He made one LP for Island Records, produced by LKJ and Dennis Bovell; I bought it for my college's record library in the early 80s. It
never made it onto CD, but if you poke about you can find it online.

Smith was stoned to death in Jamaica in 1983 - his alleged killers were members of the Jamaican Labour Party; he had heckled a political meeting. He was 29.
